Vintage Fethiye Kilim Runner, 1950s (280m x 97cm)
An original Vintage Kilim Runner, hand-woven in Fethiye c. 1950s.
This Kilim runner was woven approximately 60 years ago by Antalya Nomadic women in Fethiye, Turkey. Fethiye is situated on the southwestern Turquoise coast and looks out over the meeting point of the Aegean and Mediterranean seas. In Turkish weaving culture, horizontal stripes denote water. The choice of design on this runner symbolises the importance of the two great seas for those living in Fethiye. The diamond designs are the classic Kilim symbol of happiness.
The rich colours in this Kilim will add great character to your home and will brighten any hallway or corridor.
