The Late Summer Edit: Coastal-Inspired Tableware by Issy
This summer, after recent trips from Bordeaux to Sidmouth, I’ve found myself more in love than ever with the coast. There’s something endlessly inspiring about the sea, the soft blues and greys, the worn textures, the way the light shifts throughout the day. Those details always seem to find their way back into my work, shaping the colours, forms, and feel of the pieces I design.
I’ve always loved the British summertime - its charm lies not in perfection, but in its fleeting beauty: a patch of sunshine, the rhythm of the tide, a picnic that stretches long into the afternoon. It’s these moments that inspire my late summer edit. Here, I’ve gathered a few of my favourite pieces for the season - ones I’ve been reaching for both on holiday and at home. Whether you’re setting a table in the garden, or unpacking for a weekend by the sea, these are the pieces I’ll be keeping close by.
The Pebble Candlestick
While walking along the beach, I found a smooth pebble whose shape really stayed with me. It inspired the design of this candlestick - simple, balanced, and beautiful.
It’s the smallest in our collection, but there’s something deeply satisfying about it. Handblown in a rich ocean blue by our incredible glassblowers, it brings a subtle coastal note to your table or mantlepiece.
Blue Pom Carafe & Wine Glasses
These just feel like summer to me - light-catching, playful, and perfect for everything from elderflower fizz to chilled rosé. I use mine indoors and out, whether we’re having a family lunch or just sitting in the garden with a drink.
Each piece is handblown and dotted with joyful blue poms – beachy, bold, and cheerful!
Double-Piped Napkins in White & Blue
These always remind me of a summer we spent in Greece, bright whites, endless blues vistas, long lunches under olive trees with crumpled napkins and cold wine.
I designed these napkins with that feeling in mind: relaxed, sun-soaked, and effortlessly elegant. Featuring crisp contrast piping, they bring a laid-back spirit to the table. I love mixing them with our tablecloths for an easy, breezy summer look!
