How to Style a Mantelpiece with Candlesticks
A mantelpiece is one of those spaces in a home that naturally draws the eye. It’s a place to introduce colour, height and personality, and candlesticks work particularly beautifully here. Their vertical shape brings balance to the space while candlelight adds warmth and atmosphere.
Whether styled in abundance or with just a few carefully chosen pieces, our glass candlesticks are designed to sit comfortably within a mantel display, bringing colour and character to the room.
Using Height and Colour
For this mantel arrangement we’ve combined several of our glass candlesticks to create a layered but cohesive look.
Our Pebble candlestick in teal, Martini candlestick in teal and purple, and the taller Bugle candlestick in blue and teal are styled together with our Foxglove and Juniper dinner candles.
Mixing different shapes and heights allows the eye to travel across the mantel while keeping the palette harmonious. The subtle shifts in tone between teal, blue and purple create a sense of cohesion while still allowing each piece its own presence.
Candles also work particularly well when grouped in odd numbers, which creates a softer and more natural rhythm across the display.
A larger artwork placed behind the arrangement helps anchor the pieces and adds scale, while a few small personal objects give the mantel a relaxed and lived-in feel.
A Fuller Arrangement
For a more abundant look, multiple candlesticks can be styled together across the mantel.
Using several of our glass candlesticks together creates layers of candlelight and colour while still feeling considered when the palette is kept calm and consistent.
Arrangements like this work beautifully for evenings at home, gatherings with friends, or more festive moments throughout the year. The glow of multiple candles instantly adds warmth and atmosphere to a room.
Even within a fuller display, keeping the shapes and heights varied helps the arrangement feel balanced. The different silhouettes of the Red Swirl Candlestick in Large and Small, along with our clear Ombo, Luxor and Esna candleholders, allow the display to feel dynamic rather than uniform.
A More Minimal Moment

Candlesticks can also be styled more simply.
A small grouping of colourful glass candlesticks placed along a mantel can bring just enough colour and height to the space without overwhelming it.
Leaning artwork rather than hanging it creates a relaxed feeling, while placing it behind the candlesticks allows the colours of the glass to stand out against the background.
Adding a few personal pieces amongst the candlesticks helps create the feeling of a home that is lived in and loved.
Sometimes just two or three carefully placed pieces are all that is needed to create a beautiful moment on the mantel. This approach works particularly well with the Victorian fireplaces often found in terrace house bedrooms.
Here we've styled the Ombo Candlestick in Amber or Blue alongside our small Pebble candlestick in Blue for a simple yet characterful arrangement.
