Experience the Beauty of Ancient Greece
The Ancient Greeks and Romans shared their myths and legends by painting scenes from their stories upon ceramics. Inspired by this tradition and both my love of the antiquity and modern craft, our latest collection was born.
The three ceramic designs represent a multi-way collaboration that spans two millenia with multiple artists and creators being involved across time to create the finished pieces. Original designs from the Roman sculptor were transposed by Issy into her drawings of the ceramic collection before the independent Portuguese ceramicist brought the design to life by carving each one by hand. The Bacchus plate features an exciting collaboration with leading portrait artist and winner of the Young Artist Award at the BP Portrait Awards, Jamie Coreth, who re-imagined one of the figure's form and dress.
As a trio they represent festivity, love and joyful abandon and revive the ancient tradition of sharing myth and legend through ceramics.
