Meet Our Makers

Every Issy Granger piece begins with the hands of a skilled maker. We are incredibly proud to work with talented craftspeople and family-run workshops who share our love of traditional techniques, thoughtful design, and beautiful objects made to last. From hand-blown glass and handcrafted lighting to hand-painted ceramics, each collection reflects the dedication, expertise, and artistry of the people who bring our designs to life.

Egyptian Glassware

For over six years, Lamyaa and her team have been bringing our glass collections to life. We speak almost daily, and their passion, expertise, and willingness to embrace new ideas make them a joy to work with.

Every piece is crafted using traditional borosilicate glassblowing techniques. No moulds are used at any stage of the process. Instead, each object is formed entirely by hand and by eye, a remarkable skill that takes years to master.

Because every piece is handmade, no two are ever completely identical. We believe these subtle variations are part of their beauty. They are a reminder that a real person has spent time creating something unique, carrying forward centuries-old glassmaking traditions.

Whether it's the countless hand-applied dots that make up our Pom collections, or the carefully painted colour of our Buto & Ombo candlesticks, every design requires extraordinary patience and precision.

Many of our glass candle holders are named in honour of the talented Egyptian makers who help create them, recognising the skill and dedication that goes into every object.

Lighting

Our lighting collection is proudly made close to Issy Granger HQ by a team of highly skilled craftspeople.

Nick, a talented local carpenter, handcrafts our distinctive wooden lamp bases. Each piece is carefully measured, cut, and assembled by hand to create our signature sculptural designs.

Our lampshades are made by Bonnie, Jen, and their wonderful team, who hand-finish every shade by stretching linen around metal frames and applying trims with exceptional care and precision.

Ceramics

Our ceramic butter dishes and egg cups are made by Cristina and her team, a family-run workshop with more than 30 years of experience.

Based in Portugal's renowned Alcobaça region, they use traditional techniques that have been passed down through generations.

Each butter dish is individually hand-painted, bringing Issy's playful designs to life. Every brushstroke of our signature circus stripes has been applied by hand and requires exceptional care, precision, and a very steady hand!

The result is a collection of pieces that are both beautiful and functional, carrying the character, heritage, and craftsmanship of the people who made them.
